Casino Games: Are Big Winners Problem Gamblers?

Most big casino game winners will be smart enough to pull their winnings out of their playing bankroll instead of dumping it all back to the casino. But there are big winners who will return every dollar, plus more, after hitting a jackpot. A problem gambler will continue to be a problem gambler regardless of their winnings. For problem gamblers it’s not about what they win, or even if they win. It’s about the action. It’s about the spin of the reels, or the anticipation of waiting for a roulette ball to fall into a number space.

Problem gamblers, because they play so much, will hit a jackpot more often than most people. But it doesn’t solve their problem; they still uncontrollably want to play. Professional poker players are a good example. Doyle Brunson and Gus Hansen have won millions playing poker, but have dumped millions on losing sports bets.
